iPython Notebook for estimating temperatures

The aim of this Notebook is estimate temperatures in every location inside european bounds using the weather stations avalable on ECA&D project and applying the IDW interpolation method.

Several interpolation methods have been used to calculate climatic variables along the entire earth surface with a limited number of data collection points (weather stations). In this notebook, we use IDW interpolation. IDW is a deterministic method which provides accurate results considering also its computing simplicity. However, the accuracy depends on the quality data and stations denstity. So, sometimes, the model won't give good results.

ECA&D project contains series of daily observations at meteorological stations throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. The user has access to more than 2600 weather stations.
