The relation between temperatures and pest growing rate have been proved decades ago. Growing Degree-day models (GDD), explain the growth of some organisms like bacteria, fungus or insects, based on mean air temperature. The aim of this service is to combine two different datasets in order to extract valuable information about pests.
This iPython Notebook combines historical temperature datasets obtained from Temperature interpolation Notebook* and pest datasets with GDD information obtained from NAPPFAST (NCSU APHIS Plant Pest Forecasting System) from North Carolina State University.
*Using this software requires the execution of Temperature interpolation Notebook, in order to generate the temperature dataset for the location you want to study.
